Kyle Detwiler is the CEO of Northern Swan. Previously, Detwiler co-founded Silver Swan Capital, an investment firm focused on niche and underfollowed sectors. He was also a Principal at The Blackstone Group, a leading alternative investment manager with $472 billion in assets under management. As an early member of the Tactical Opportunities Fund, Detwiler was involved in the management and served as a board member of seven investments with roughly $1 billion of Blackstone capital.

Detwiler was previously a member of the private equity practice at KKR, focusing on transactions in the oil and gas, energy, natural resource and health care sectors. He began his career as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.

Detwiler graduated with distinction from Harvard Business School and cum laude from Princeton University.

Chief Financial Officer

Chris Sim is the Chief Financial Officer at Northern Swan. Previously, he was EVP, Chief Operating Officer at Hudson’s Bay Company (“HBC”). As a key member of the M&A team, Sim was responsible for performing due diligence and integrating operations of Hudson’s Bay in 2010 and Saks, Inc. in 2013. He also led Fortunoff through a liquidity crisis, a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, and a wind down of company from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7 filing. Sim led HBC and the financial advisory team for its IPO on the TSX. He has a depth of expertise in directing eCommerce and delivering significant digital growth of thebay.com and Lordandtaylor.com.

As a senior retail executive, Sim has been recognized for his broad-based strategic, financial and operational experience in diverse retail environments, with demonstrated success in providing the vision and leadership to drive business growth and maximize profitability through vigorous operational and financial management.

Sim graduated from Loyola University in Maryland with a BBA in Finance.

Mitch Hara is Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for Northern Swan, where he is responsible for the Company’s investments and business development efforts on a global scale. Hara has over 30 years of M&A experience in both a transactional and operating context, in high-growth environments, including 20+ years on Wall Street, where he helped build M&A and Industry practices at premier investment banking boutiques, including Wasserstein, Perella and PJ Solomon, and bulge-bracket firms, including Merrill Lynch and Citigroup. After his tenure on Wall Street, Hara spent four years as SVP of Strategy/M&A at HSN, Inc., then a publicly traded company (now part of Qurate Retail Group), where he also ran their VC Incubator. Most recently, Hara was CEO of Beekman 1802, a high-growth, premium branded consumer products company, where he orchestrated the acquisition of its largest supplier, creating over $100MM in value. Prior to joining Northern Swan, Hara was consulting for branded, CBD-based consumer packaged goods companies regarding strategy and capital raising. Over his career, Hara has originated, structured and executed over $50BN in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, leveraged buyouts, and structured debt and equity financings.

Gina Rebollar is the General Counsel of Northern Swan, leading the company’s global legal and compliance function. Previously, Rebollar served as Senior Vice President and Managing Counsel of Chubb, the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurance company and the largest commercial insurer in the US. Prior to her role at Chubb, she was an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where she counseled multinational corporations and financial institutions in financing, private equity, M&A, capital markets, and venture capital transactions. Rebollar provides full-service counsel in capital markets, corporate governance and other global matters with a practiced hand in the context of highly regulated industries and public companies. Her extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions includes M&A transactions on three continents exceeding $30 billion in aggregate value. Rebollar received her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her B.A. in English and Political Science, magna cum laude, from Duke University.

Bobby Yavari is Northern Swan’s Global Head of Capital Projects. Yavari has over 20 years of experience working with consumer foods companies, most recently serving as Senior Director of Global Expansion for privately owned fresh fruits distributor, Driscoll’s. In this role, Yavari took on the challenge of developing nascent international markets. Prior to working with Driscoll’s, Yavari was Director at Chiquita-Fresh Express, focusing on strategic revenue planning as well as managing the supply and demand planning process. In addition to the positive operational impacts he had on Chiquita-Fresh Express, Yavari was acknowledged with both the Best Collaboration Award and the Best Leadership Award.

Jeremy Coutinho is Managing Director and Head of North American investments at Northern Swan. Prior to joining Northern Swan, Coutinho was the Chief Investment Officer for Rotan Energy, where he gained experience in global infrastructure investments by focusing on the development of power generation assets in Sub Saharan Africa. Earlier in Coutinho’s career, he spent nearly three years investing in private and public companies as an associate for Tinicum Incorporated. After graduating from St. Lawrence University with a B.A. in Economics, Coutinho began his career as an investment banker in Morgan Stanley’s M&A group.

Joseph Salameh is Managing Director and Head of Europe at Northern Swan. Prior to joining Northern Swan, Salameh was a Vice President at Citi, focusing on financial technology acquisitions. Salameh was a management consultant in the London practice of Booz & Company, providing advisory services to private equity, hedge fund, and corporate clients. Salameh holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
